Water, Education, and Identity for the City We Dream Of Summit 2024

The 2024 Tras La Perla Summit brought together experts, community leaders, academics, and authorities to reflect on the challenges and opportunities facing Santa Marta in relation to water, education, and civic identity. The day began with an immersive journey through the cultural, ecological, and technical dimensions of water—from the indigenous worldview to public service management—featuring international author Giulio Boccaletti. The afternoon sessions tackled key themes for the city’s future: building a shared brand, improving educational quality, and strengthening civic and cultural identity. With an agenda that blended ancestral wisdom, technical knowledge, institutional vision, and cultural commitment, the event reaffirmed a collective promise to build a more sustainable, educated Santa Marta—proud of its essence and ready for the next 500 years.
